After a ton of travel and time, we’re back on the homefront. But we brought with us both Betsy’s mother AND her 7 year old niece Kelsi.

So we’re definitely gonna have an interesting week. We’ve literally been back one day and so far we’ve:

Played video games on the Xbox, Playstation AND Gamecube.
Taken a walking tour of campus.
Gone to the rec center and played basketball, raquetball, tennis, and gone rock climbing.
Played school.
Used the computer.
Baked brownies.

I’m not sure what we can possibly keep doing for the next week.

Oh, and Happy Holidays to all my random readers. Nearly 50 of you a day are swinging by, which makes me very pleased. Keep coming by, and I’ll keep finding random things to say and link.

• Sirloin Rib Roast, marinaded in olive oil/soy sauce/balsamic vinegar/garlic/white wine and cooked medium well
• Grilled Asparagus with butter
• Roasted New Potatoes with leeks and whole garlic cloves, flavored with rosemary and scallions
• Braised Wild Mushrooms in Killian’s Red
• Beer and bleu cheese sauce for the roast, made by deglazing the roast pan with Killian’s and melting bleu cheese, butter, and a clove of the roasted garlic

Mmmmmmmm….good.

After the delicious repast, we exchanged gifts (hey, we’re heading out on Thurs. and wanted some time to enjoy them!). I got a couple of most excellent DVD’s (go Buffy Season 5!), the game Puerto Rico which I am really looking forward to playing, and a Ninetendo Gamecube which I will be supplimenting with many Miyamoto games.

WTF?

I didn’t even have an entry those two days.

Over on Slashdot, they’re hosting Gabe and Tycho’s Christmas episode of Penny Arcade.

I’ll just say that the subject matter is near and dear to my heart.

I’ll have to put in a small plug here for Penny Arcade. I owe them a TON of hits on this blog…even now, one of the most searched for terms to get to my blog via Google is “Strawberry Shortcake Penny Arcade” from this blog entry.
