Not only was it Father’s Day, but yesterday was Eliza’s 6-month birthday. Her two bottom teeth are finally through the gums, and that seems to have helped her mood enormously. Now the top two are on the way, but we hope they won’t be the hell the bottom two were.
Can’t believe she’s a half-year old. I know that everyone says time flies, but to experience it is something different. She’s completely awesome, though, and only gets awesomer. đŸ™‚
Ellie had a great day exploring downtown Chattanooga today with Betsy’s family. Her brother, sister-in-law, and nieces all came to visit, so we spent the hottest day of the year running around downtown.
After visiting the aquarium and having some ribs, we went across the river to Coolidge Park, where Eliza loved the fountains and carousel. She even managed to get sprayed a little to cool down. Elze is quite the trooper when we’re running around, and seemingly loves everything and everyone.

I made my first batch of Eliza Food today. It went like this:

and then portioned it out into 4 oz tupperware like this
and ended up with this
All in all, 9 servings of sweet potatoes that are, unlike processed baby food, delicious. Plus it’s kinda fun knowing exactly what she’s eating, and being able to fix it myself. I’m looking forward to doing this on weekends, and throwing a weeks worth of food in the freezer for her.
Everyone always comments on Ellie’s eyes…how clear, how attentive they are, how pretty. She’s always had great eyes, even from birth. She wasn’t out in the world 5 seconds before she popped her eyes open and was looking around. Heck, we’ve even got a 3D Ultrasound of her with her eyes open In Utero.
We’ll see about the color, though…both Betsy and I have greenish eyes, while Ellie is still deep blue. She’s still got time for them to change, though.
I’m four months old today!
I also just had my 4 month checkup, and I’m 14 pounds, 5 ounces and 25 inches tall! 75% for both, so I’m nice and proportionate.
This is Ellie trying to “kiss” her cousin Parker…she’s not quite figured it out yet, but knows that it’s hilarious when Mom and Dad kiss her. So anytime you bring her close to your face, she just opens her mouth up wide like she’s trying to take a bite of your cheek.
So either she’s trying to kiss you, or she’s a zombie. I’ll keep everyone informed one way or the other.
Eliza, thanks to Titi Chrysty, is geared up for summer. How cool is she with the shades?
