How do you teach your kids that failing is ok? Eliza is becoming emotionally upset with failure, looking to mitigate/deal with.

You figure it out, I want to know. But I think praising process & effort over result is part of it. Have you read Nurture Shock?

I also try to be honest about times when I fail & model productive ways to deal with it, talk through how I'm doing that.

Dunno. Maturation? My son's the same way. He's ultracompetitive and gets frustrated when he hasn't mastered something in 10 minutes
